Legion's success depends entirely on active membership,
participation and volunteerism. The organization belongs to the
people it serves & the communities in which it thrives.
Introduce a veteran friend to our post. New members bring with
them, new energy and new ideas to help sustain the post.
It's still 2016 BUT the 2017
membership year began on July 1, 2016.
Your dues help support programs
in Shelton & across the nation. Please send your

The following members have been transferred to Post
Everlasting: Ed Manion, Frank Pagano, Anthony Merola, Eleanor
Smarz, and Joe Konner.
Dedicated members of the house committee have been working hard
to keep our post home in tip top shape. We know that not
everyone has the time to volunteer on the house committee, but
all members can police the area where they sat prior to leaving
the canteen or picnic area. Many hands make light work.
Please help to keep our post home clean.

Once again, our
annual Sons picnic was a great success and everyone had a great
time. A special thanks to Legionnaire Billy Hill and all those
Sons who gave their time to help. The hot dog shed for the
horseshoe season on Monday and Wednesday is past mid-season and
has been very successful.
In June we sent two
young men to Boy’s State. Members of our Squadron
assisted the Legion's Lobster Fest.
Our Squadron not
only achieved 100% membership, we set an all-time high 123
members. Take advantage of our new dues program and pay by
continues to grow and through your efforts we have been able to
give to others. I personally want to thank each of you for
diligently paying your dues and volunteering for work details
as well as events here at Post 16. May best wishes to you and
your family for the holidays and a great new year.
